Managing our finances
After receiving overwhelming support on Patreon in covering the game's costs, here's a quick layout on how we're gonna manage the funds.
Keeping in mind that our annual costs for the server and domain sit at approximately US $124 and the fact that we’re due to surpass our goal for 2026 by next month, any excess funds will be reserved for subsequent years after that.
OpenAI’s cost is a bit of wildcard, but not something we need to worry about. Its wallet is currently loaded with US $8.5 (from the $10 at the beginning of the year), so the underlying assumption here is we won’t need to refill for the entirety of 2026.
Having said, here’s the plan:
2026 - US $92 (74% there for the $124)
2027 - $0

The “Golden Age of Particracy” membership tier (created after popular demand) on Patreon is capped at US $20 (6 * 20 = 120), so as not to abuse the goodwill of our heavy hitter supporters. The “Greater Good for All” US $5.50 tier remains.
Both of those tiers will keep adding to our 10-year wallet.
Once and if we fill that wallet, the US $20 tier will most likely be disabled and we will revert back to either 1 or 2 smaller scale tiers so that we can keep:
A buffer for unscheduled costs (i.e. AI)
Building up a wallet for beyond 2035, but on a much slower pace since that’s basically so much far ahead into the future
Inflation in mind
The “Banana Welfare” tier at US $1.50 remains for those of you who want to directly support The Banana (GreekIdiot) itself.
