Breakdown of costs
After hitting $22.47 on Patreon, here's a quick breakdown of the server, domain and other costs for running Particracy Legacy.
Excluding the ones described below, the stack, plugins, libraries, Wiki, forum, Discord, this newsletter, the YouTube channel and so forth are free of charge.
This post is in par with my vision of transparency for the game and community.
Primary services
Server for prtcy.com and sub-services is at approx. $94.03 (€80.35), varying based on currency exchange fluctuations
Domain for prtcy.com at approx. $28.30 (€24.18)
Secondary tools
Currently, we’re only using OpenAI (tech behind ChatGPT) on which I loaded $10 at the beginning of the year. There’s currently $8.51 left, so looks like we’re set for the foreseeable future (remainder of 2025 and probably entirety of 2026).
Our first goal
Is to hit $122.33 by October of 2026, so as to cover 2026-2027 (I have 2025-2026 covered out of freebies/coupons).
We’re currently $99.86 short of that.
At some point I will directly connect Patreon’s payout wallet to the services listed above, so that renewals do not require my intervention.
Making this game a community self-managed one, through and through.
